| An appreciation service was held on April 30,2006 at the Kid's Bible Club, Jonesboro, Arkansas to honor Seventy Carolyn Passmore. At least 111 children and adults from several states and many congregations met in celebration and thanksgiving for her vision, dedication and willingness to do what ever it took that exemplifies Carolyn's life of service to our community. The service was presided over by Elder Cathy Clark who read the history of the Bible Club and the congregation. The service was a complete surprise to Carolyn, with much credit and comments being given to Martin on his efforts to "keep things a surprise." World Church and Mission Center Staff, along with friends from many congregations shared with everyone their love for Carolyn and thier memories of traveling with her (an experience never to be forgotten), the early beginnings of the Bible Club on Woodrow, Carolyn's belief in the value of all persons no matter how small and her amazing ability to get anyone to say, "Yes, I'll do it," no matter what the "it" was. Person after person shared how knowing Carolyn had changed their life and the outporing of love and affection shined through the many smiles and tears shed. Phoenix Lock and Leah Keasler sang solos as part of the service. A lasagna dinner followed the service in the beautifully decorated fellowship hall with a slide show of Bible Club and Mission Memories playing in the sanctuary. |
