He asks that you provide his meals and lodging while he is in your congregation and that you consider reimbursing his mileage. _________________________________________________________________ Top Ten Ways to Make Your Sermons More Interesting How to: begin and end a sermon with powerful phrases, use illustrations and scriptures effectively, find and use resources other than the scriptures, approach a topic from several viewpoints, use the principle of three for impact, and much more. Top Ten Ways to Increase Giving to Your Congregation How to: ask for the gift, make a budget that helps raise money, improve the offertory ministry, integrate fundraising and stewardship education year-after-year, create gift-acceptance guidelines, conduct an annual giving campaign, and much more. _________________________________________________________________ The workshops may be scheduled back-to-back or at separate times. He was on the planning committee that established the South Central States Mission Center. He created and manages his congregation's Web site, www.chapelforpeace.org. He is retired after 27 years as a senior-level college fundraising and alumni executive, including nine years as a vice president. He has made presentations to national professional groups and has written for national publications including Sunday school lessons for the Adult Power & Light series. He is co-author of the book, The Pastor's Guide to Fund-Raising Success. He volunteers as a hospice chaplain, advisor to nonprofits for Springfield-Greene County Libraries, and fundraiser for the American Red Cross Chapter in Springfield. ___________________________________________________________________________ |
